Julie “Tawny” Kitaen was arrested on Saturday afternoon near vicinity of John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana according to Newport Beach Police Sargent, Shontel Sherwood. The arrest was  at approximately 3:00 p.m. for investigation of driving under the influence, after Newport Beach police officers suspected she was driving her Land Rover while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The 48 year old Kitaen allegedly made contact with officers according to Sgt. Sherwood. Kitaen recently appeared on VH1’s Surreal Life and Dr. Drew’s Celebrity Rehab on the same network, and was also arrested in 2006 when a search of her San Juan Capistrano apartment turned up 15 grams of cocaine.

Tawny Kitaen was recently interviewed by Chelsea Handler of the Chelsea Lately show. She seemed optimistic about life and talked a bit about her past. Unfortunately, a band of Gypsies stole Tawny’s purse and 8000 dollars!

Tawny sort of comes into this show implying that she is sober. Dr. Drew says that she is in denial.

“It’s very common. People call themselves sober and they’re still smoking pot or taking sleeping pills or anti-anxiety medication and their disease is alive and well.” -Dr. Drew, in reference to Tawny

The good doctor then went on to state that part of the problem is that pharmaceutical meds are not stigmatizd in the same way that illegal street-drugs are.

“Bottom line is that addicts will take any opportunity. That’s how the disease works.”

According to a source close to the athlete, while out one night in April 2002, Finley issued his wife an ultimatum. She would beat her addiction to prescription drugs, or he would seek custody of their two children. According to police reports, Kitaen became violent in the car, kicking her husband while he was at the wheel

Chuck, safety first. Ten and two, buddy. Don’t lip off, you know that a heel is coming any second. She knows how to move around.

He is, of course, a professional athlete. One would think that he would have a couple of blocking moves so that the Whitesnake girl couldn’t get him.

Tawny was arrested and charged with spousal abuse. She plead not guilty. Finley filed for divorce three days after the incident. He took his children to cleveland where he was playing baseball. The judge issued a restraining order, barring Tawny from any contact with Finley. A devastated Kitaen sought help. She spent 30 days at the Promises drug rehabiliation center in Malibu. In late 2002, the court agreed to drop the charges against tawny… But there were conditions. The actress would attend anger management counseling and she would stay away from Finley for 3 years. Tawny was doing great until she went on Howard Stern’s radio show and discussed the case. OOPS! The judge made her write a letter of apology. Tawny and Wynter gave Paris a “C grade.”

As Tawny put it, “We loved the bathing suit; the foam was a bit much. I mean, look at Angelina Jolie. She could get me to eat 10 hamburgers just by asking me to.” Wynter followed by saying “It’s a little too gratuitous.”

Up next for consideration was Jessica Simpson’s rendition of “These Boots (are Made for Walkin’).” This song and video were made to accompany the release of “The Dukes of Hazzard.

Tawny and Wynter gave this video a (barely) passing grade: D+

In reference to Jessica SImpson, Tawny Kitaen said the she felt “embarrassed for her” in this video and she didn’t understand what the car part had to do with the rest of the video. “What the hell was that for. That makes no sense.”

Wynter Finley also hated the video. She noted that Jessica was “trying too hard.”

Last, but not least, they watched Lindsey Lohan’s “First” video.

Tawny seemed to like Lindsay Lohan, giving her an “A” for this music video. She commented both her and Wynter “liked Lindsay a lot. She’s never looked better. I thought she was very sexy without pushing it at all. This has completely changed my outlook on her. I’m shocked.”

So there you have it. Maybe Tawny saw something in common with Lindsay. Perhaps because they are both redheads? Or maybe because they have had similar legal issues?

It is hard to believe that at the time, Tawny was a bigger star than Tom! My how things change. This picture lets you see how beautiful Tawny was near her prime.
